Our Roots…

Siblings, Christine and Eric, along with their parents, Carl & Marion, started Raymond’s Garden Center in March of 1993. But the dream started well before that. Starting in the late 80’s Carl grew Rhododendrons and Pieris in a small greenhouse. Eric joined Carl and they started a lawn mowing service.

In the beginning, Raymond’s sold mainly color and bedding plants, they soon expanded to a full-service garden center offering a complete range of flowers, shrubs, and trees, along with all the necessary supplies. 

Christine and Carl at the garden center and Marion and Eric were out doing lawn maintenance. The next generation of Raymond’s children were raised at the Garden Center. When they weren’t in school you would find them on the grounds, playing, riding their bikes, or napping in the Garden Center.

The Growing division began slowly with the construction of the 1st greenhouse in summer 1993. That became the first hothouse with the addition of plastic and a heater in Winter 1994. Carl started slow by growing things from seed that Winter. Over the next few years they expanded to 5 heated houses and 8 cold frames.

While the Garden Center has seen a lot of changes through the years, one thing that has not changed is the commitment to quality growing and customer service.

Along with the best staff any business could have, they continue the family's tradition of growing and selling the finest gardening stock with old-fashioned, individualized customer service.

You will still find Christine at the Garden Center. Her brother, Eric, along with his daughter Abby, run Raymond’s Landscaping, a full service landscaping company.
